**Local Community Events: October Schedule Interview**

**Interviewer:** Can you tell us about some of the local community events happening this October?

**Organizer:** Absolutely! We have a fantastic lineup of events throughout the month, starting with the Sewing Club’s Open Lab on Monday, October 7th. It’s a great opportunity for sewing enthusiasts to come together, work on their projects, and share ideas. It runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 89-11 Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica.

**Interviewer:** That sounds like fun! What else do you have planned for the week?

**Organizer:** On Tuesday, October 8th, we have the Mahjong Club, where players can enjoy strategic games and connect with fellow Mahjong lovers. This event will take place from 1:15 PM to 3:30 PM at 256-04 Union Turnpike in Glen Oaks.

**Interviewer:** I see quilting is on the agenda as well!

**Organizer:** Yes, that’s right! On Wednesday, October 9th, we invite adults to join our Quilt Club from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM at 218-13 Linden Boulevard in Cambria Heights. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced quilter, everyone’s welcome to explore the art of quilting together.

**Interviewer:** It must be great to have diverse offerings for the community. Can you tell us about any unique classes this month?

**Organizer:** Definitely! On Thursday, October 10th, we’ll be hosting virtual art classes specifically for Chinese dementia caregivers. This session runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and aims to provide a creative outlet that helps ease the stresses of caregiving.

**Interviewer:** That’s a wonderful initiative. What’s happening on Friday?

**Organizer:** On Friday, October 11th, we’re holding a Wire-Wrapped Jewelry Making Workshop from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at 35-51 81 Street in Jackson Heights. It’s perfect for all skill levels, and participants will learn to create beautiful pieces of jewelry.

**Interviewer:** And what about support for local students?

**Organizer:** On Saturday, October 12th, we’re offering Extra Help for grades 1-6. This supplemental tutoring will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 85-41 Forest Parkway in Woodhaven, providing a friendly environment for students to enhance their learning.

**Interviewer:** Lastly, do you have any upcoming workshops for those preparing for college?

**Organizer:** Yes! On Sunday, October 13th, we’ll be hosting a Workshop on FAFSA and TAP. This event, running from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at 41-17 Main Street in Flushing, will guide participants through the process of applying for financial aid and navigating college financing.
