Anhui Wuhu Shenshan Music Festival (Autumn) National College Student Singers Competition Opens

On October 19th, the 2024 Wuhu Shenshan Music Festival (Autumn) kicked off at Shenshan Park in Anhui, featuring a national competition for university singers, including groups. A total of 362 participants from 26 provinces, municipalities, and special administrative regions eagerly took part in this exciting event.

Following preliminary selections, 100 finalists advanced to the intense semi-finals and finals held from October 18th to 20th at Shenshan Park. A panel of professional judges, along with music enthusiasts, will determine the top winners and award individual categories. Victory in the competition will give select artists the opportunity to perform alongside star singers in early November, alongside participation in the “Oasis Music Project,” which offers a chance for a university tour.

Spanning nearly 5,000 acres, Shenshan Park not only offers breathtaking views of lakes and mountains but also houses over 300 meticulously crafted sculptures and the historic Chi Zhu Academy. The park is enriched with legends such as the Swordsmith of Ganjiang, the Shenshan Drizzle, and the Li Weigong Temple, creating a unique blend of culture, art, sports, and leisure that resonates deeply with the locals.

This year’s music festival shows a more inclusive approach compared to the 2023 edition. While last year focused on university bands, this year allows participants to enter individually or as a group, providing an equal platform for both solo artists and group performers to shine. Additionally, a wider array of supporting activities is set to enhance the experience—during the singing competition, attendees can enjoy camping coffee, cultural performances, a food market, a university club carnival, talent recruitment, and a fireworks drone show, making the event even more vibrant and exciting.

To nurture the next generation of music talent, the Wuhu City Bureau of Culture and Tourism has launched the “National University Musician Growth Program,” aimed at helping young dreamers showcase their talents and stand out in the music scene.

During the festival, Shenshan Park is also hosting the “2024 Wuhu Industry-Specific Job Fair,” with over 200 quality companies on-site looking to recruit. The event aims to fill more than 10,000 quality positions, with one-third considered “high-paying jobs.”
