On the evening of October 18, the 32nd China TV Golden Eagle Awards and the 15th China Golden Eagle Television Art Festival officially kicked off in Changsha, Hunan province.
During the opening ceremony, attendees were treated to a vibrant cultural gala where Tian Liangliang, the screenwriter of the hit series “The Three-Body Problem,” and Hong Xiao, the producer of “Singer 2024,” engaged with overseas audiences. Their interactions illustrated the promising future of Chinese films and TV shows as they make their mark internationally. Additionally, directors, screenwriters, and actors from popular dramas such as “In the World,” “The Long Season,” and “Blossoms” shared heartfelt stories and insights about their journeys in creating exceptional television art. A highlight of the evening was a performance by singer Sun Nan, who delivered “Golden Eagle: Echoes,” a medley celebrating the theme songs of outstanding television productions.
This year’s festival is themed “A Celebration of Art, A Festival for the People.” Beyond the opening gala, there will be several key events, including a seminar on the high-quality development of television and online audiovisual arts in the new era, an outreach program titled “Tracing Cultural Roots and Engaging Youth” that brings artistic professionals into schools, and ceremonies for the nomination honors and award presentations.
The awards ceremony, set to take place on the evening of October 20, will recognize excellence in various categories, including Outstanding Television Series, Best Documentary, Best Animated Program, and Best Variety Show. Awards will also be given for Best Screenwriter, Director, Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, and more.
The competition for Best Leading Actor features six acclaimed performers: Yu Hewei, Li Xian, Zhang Ruoyun, Fan Wei, Hu Ge, and Jin Dong. Meanwhile, the race for Best Leading Actress includes Liu Lin, Li Qin, Wu Yue, Zhou Xun, Zhao Liying, and Tang Yan. In total, 36 series, including “Life’s Journey,” “The Three-Body Problem,” “In the Vastness,” “County Party Committee Courtyard,” and “The Fury,” have been nominated for Outstanding Television Series.
The China Golden Eagle Television Art Festival is an offshoot of the China TV Golden Eagle Awards, organized by the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Hunan Provincial Government, and the China Television Artists Association.
