This dialogue primarily revolved around Israel’s strategies in response to Iran, as confirmed by the White House. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre described the interaction as “direct and productive,” with Vice President Kamala Harris also joining the discussion.
The White House released an official statement reiterating Biden’s unwavering commitment to the security of Israel and denouncing Iran’s ballistic missile strike against Israel that took place on October 1.
In her briefing to reporters, Jean-Pierre highlighted that the discussion spanned various topics and acknowledged the differences in perspectives between the two leaders. Nonetheless, she underscored their mutual willingness to engage in dialogue.
During their conversation, Biden emphasized the necessity for Israel to adopt a “proportional” approach in its response to Iran, advising caution regarding any further military actions.
