China-Vietnam youth friendly meeting held in China

The 23rd China-Vietnam Youth Friendship Meeting kicked off in Nanning, Guangxi, on October 14, with the theme “Continuing Traditional Friendship, Working Together for a Shared Future.” Approximately 200 young representatives from various sectors of China and Vietnam attended the event.

The opening ceremony featured speeches from prominent leaders, including A Dong, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Phai Quang Huy, the First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and Liu Ning, the Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Regional People’s Congress.

During the ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, followed by the announcement of the youth exchange program list for the “China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Year” in 2025. Various regional youth organizations from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangxi, Yunnan, and their counterparts in Vietnam will collaborate on over 20 youth exchange and youth development projects.

Throughout the event, young participants from both countries will engage with communities, schools, businesses, industrial parks, and museums in cities such as Nanning, Liuzhou, and Chongzuo. They will focus on themes such as innovation and entrepreneurship, volunteer service, and rural revitalization, conducting specialized discussions, visits, forums, and cultural experiences. The goal is to foster a collective youth consensus and encourage action to promote the strategic China-Vietnam community of shared destiny.

The China-Vietnam Youth Friendship Meeting is a flagship program for youth exchanges between the two countries. This year’s event is jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, with support from the Youth League Committee of Guangxi and the China (Guangxi) International Youth Exchange Institute.
