Kim Dui-seok allocated 35,000 yuan to the community patrol team to help improve public security in Flushing._3

State Assemblyman Ron Kim recently announced a range of new public safety measures on October 16, including a significant grant of $35,000 for the Flushing New York Public Safety Patrol (NYPSP). This funding is aimed at enhancing patrol efforts and expanding patrol routes in response to a rise in robbery and theft incidents in the area.

In his remarks, Kim expressed gratitude for the dedicated work of the NYPSP in maintaining the safety of downtown Flushing. He hopes that this financial support will alleviate some of the burdens on the patrol team and contribute to the overall safety of the community.

Lee Qi-ji, the Vice President of the NYPSP, stated that the patrol will effectively utilize this funding to increase both the frequency and coverage of their patrols. Additionally, the team’s self-defense courses will continue to be offered, providing better protection for local businesses and residents.

Kim also reminded small business owners in the community that the application deadline for the Commercial Security Tax Credit Program is approaching on October 31. This program allows businesses to receive a tax credit of up to $6,000 for purchasing security equipment to help prevent crime.

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, eligible expenses for the program include hiring state-registered security guards, purchasing surveillance cameras, alarm systems, lighting, any form of theft prevention locks, and infrared devices for counterfeit detection.

To qualify, businesses must operate in the retail sector and have no outstanding tax issues. Those with fewer than 25 employees can apply for $3,000, while businesses with fewer than 50 employees can apply for $6,000.
