On October 18, during a meeting with representatives from BRICS media at his presidential residence near Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on America’s attempts to hinder China’s development, suggesting that these efforts have backfired on the U.S. economy.

Putin stated, “The attempt to contain China’s growth has only led to repercussions for the American economy, resulting in a lack of competitiveness for many of their products.”

He further elaborated that “the U.S. trade restrictions on China are not driven by political motives but are rather aimed at slowing down China’s economic progress.” However, he believes such attempts are futile.

“It’s impossible to stop progress,” he declared, “Just like telling the sun not to rise. The sun will rise regardless. Economic development follows an objective process and is influenced by countless factors.”
