Long March Story|The first major victory in the Long March, how did the Red Army win-

Located in the northern part of Guizhou, the terrain of Laoshan Pass is quite complex. On February 25, 1935, the Red Army’s 3rd Corps received orders to “eliminate the local enemy forces at Laoshan Pass and seize Zunyi.” In a show of support, local residents traversed the mountains to guide the Red Army. As the soldiers climbed to the summit in the dim light of a rainy evening, they grasped vines and branches for support. Shortly after reaching the top, they spotted the enemy advancing from the opposite side of the mountain. Without hesitation, they hurled grenades down at the enemy forces, successfully pushing them back. The Red Army then launched a vigorous counterattack. Following fierce battles on the 25th and 26th, the local troops suffered a significant defeat, leading the Red Army to continue their pursuit and eventually retake Zunyi on February 28.
